Hidden In Plain Light
The following are select pieces from my BFA senior collection. This collection was made in honor of two women (Valerie Thomas and Loie Fuller) with intersectional identities, who made innovations in light technology, thus making names for themselves despite society’s efforts to hide the existence of people like them.
This collection is characterized by elements of light reflection, iridescence, abstract amorphic shapes, and various representations of movement. Featured, are also references from their respective time periods within the context of fashion history: Art Nouveau & 1960’s Space Age Futurism.
